Each stage of your five stage plan contains several key components. The three phases are write, publish and market. In the course of accomplishing each and every step in all of these phases you will find the assistance of others is critical to the success of your book. While progressing through the process you may want to tackle some of these steps and find that you need a bit more help than originally intended. This is often the case with e-Book authors. Never fear, you will always have the flexibility built in your customized plan to add to or subtract from your list of services.
The phases in the development plan begin with selection of your topic and end with your Book Proposal. Within this stage the Authors ADVANTAGE can assist you with Review of Intellectual Property, Timeline/Accountability, Putting your team together, Research, and Audience Analysis to name a few. The next stage in the Development Process is Manuscript Completion. This is the stage where you will find most of your time spent in the writing. There will be research, filing, and the beginning stages of design to be addressed. At this stage the Authors ADVANTAGE can take the burden off of you so you can spend your time doing what you love to do, write.
As your book or e-Book nears completion and is Prepared for Print selecting a knowledgable and skilled layout and cover design artist can be of significant value. It is here that your book begins to take shape. The Authors ADVANTAGE will put together several concept designs for you to choose from and will work with you on this process until you are 100% satisfied. It is during this time that your ISBN# and if you will be needing/wanting one your PCIP# for library placement will be obtained.
This next stage is where nearly 1/3 of all authors authors miss the mark. Failure to properly prepare for the eventual sale of your book by skipping the galley printing stage and obtaining reviews from noteworthy people can hamper the eventual success of your book or e-Book. During this First Printing stage you will begin planning in more detail and preparing workshops, seminars, newsletters and other promotional tours. Marketing materials should be designed for both public and media promotions.
With just two more stages to go you are well on your way to becomming the successful author you have always dreamed you can be. The Publication stage can be the most exciting time in the book development process. Things are coming together and your public relations launch is beginning to form. During this time there are fewer challenges for you to address but there are still a few last minute details prior to the next and most crucial stage.
Marketing. Without marketing your book or e-Book will sit dutifully on the shelf. While you will be the main person involved in the marketing of your publication you will find the services of the Authors ADVANTAGE invaluable in this area. Marketing begins with a plan and ends with an action. The plan can be directed and coordinated by your personal representative. This will significantly improve your chance of successful promotion.
